PROJECT: WEBSITE & SYSTEM INTEGRATION

PROJECT: WEBSITE & SYSTEM INTEGRATION

Since 2007, the Teatro alla Scala has relied on Engitel for the restyling of its website and for the development of the DAM historical archive. The re-engineering, the restyling and the porting of all the contents of the La Scala website were carried out by Engitel, through the CMS Spin&Go. This was completed in a record time of barely two months. The next three restylings however were completed even faster thanks to the use of Spin&Go.

The ArchivioLaScala platform, web showcase of the DAM (Digital Assets Management) digital archive, was developed by Engitel using ORACLE technology, implementing a porting of multimedia content from the previous platform to the current one. Thanks to the current platform, the public has the opportunity to access a large part of the artistic heritage of the Theatre through the website www.archiviolascala.org.

Thanks to the collaboration between Engitel and Google, the historical archive of the Theatre was digitized and made public as part of the Google Arts & Culture project, which is responsible for converting the works and collections onto the web in order to create galleries in high definition and immersive experiences.

Built in the late 18th century according to the project of the architect Giuseppe Piermarini, the Teatro alla Scala is home to the choir, the orchestra, the corps de ballet and the philharmonic orchestra. An integral part of the Milanese identity, it has more than 2000 seats and has hosted the world premieres of the works of Giuseppe Verdi, Gioachino Rossini and Giacomo Puccini.
