Due to the high traffic volumes (around 30 million page views per month) and the evolution of business logic, the Moto.it website has relied on Engitel for a complete re-engineering of its web platform. Also, considering the huge load to which the system was subjected, a very thorough tuning of the whole system was necessary.
Engitel therefore dealt with the latching of the non-dynamic components of the website; activation, monitoring and tuning of the cache at the level of functions and application pools; balancing front end web servers through external appliances; activating several application pools in order to optimize memory usage.
Engitel's work, the platform increased its performance level and stability, increasing overall traffic by around 30%. In addition, the webpage went from being a simple classified site to becoming a real portal.
Moto.it was born in 1997 thanks to the passion of Ippolito Fassati and his partner in the motorcycle world. Born in the early days of the internet, it was the first ever Italian website to combine the supply and demand of used motorcycles. The page has subsequently evolved by incorporating news and insights on the two-wheel sector.
